Terms of Service
Effective Date: January 8, 2026
Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and Better Lives ApS (CVR-nr: 45043983) (“we”, “us”, “our”) regarding your access to and use of stillwell (the teacher web app) and Stillwell browser (the student browser) (together, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
The Services
- Teachers use stillwell to configure classroom browser sessions (for example allowed sites, blocked categories, and other session settings).
- Students use Stillwell browser to join and participate in those sessions.
Eligibility and minors
If you are under the age of 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may only use the Services with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
Teacher accounts
Teachers may be required to create an account to use stillwell (for example via email sign-in or social login). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.
You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being used unlawfully or in violation of these Terms.
Student access
Students do not create accounts. Students may join sessions through the mechanism provided by their teacher (for example a link or code).
We do not require students to provide a full legal name. Students may use a pseudonym and may enter a first name if they choose.
Acceptable use and restrictions
You agree not to misuse the Services. In particular, you agree not to:
- Break the law or encourage unlawful activity.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with security or restriction features (including Stillwell browser restrictions).
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Services (except where prohibited by law).
- Introduce malware or attempt to disrupt the Services.
- Access the Services through automated means without our permission.
Stillwell browser classroom functionality
Stillwell browser is a student browser designed for use in teacher-led classroom sessions. Students use Stillwell browser only when instructed to do so by a teacher and may exit the browser at any time. Stillwell browser does not monitor student activity outside of the Stillwell browser application or outside of active classroom sessions.
When a student is participating in an active session configured by a teacher or school, Stillwell browser may monitor and record activity occurring within the browser, including visited websites and on-screen activity. Depending on the session configuration, this may include screenshots, keystrokes, or clipboard interactions that occur within Stillwell browser.
This monitoring is limited to the duration of the classroom session and is intended solely to support instruction, classroom management, student safety, and assessment integrity. Stillwell browser does not track students outside the classroom or after a session has ended.
Privacy
Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy:
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise indicated, the Services and their content (including software, design, text, and logos) are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive only a limited, revocable right to use the Services in accordance with these Terms.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if required to comply with law, or to protect the Services, users, or third parties.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
